From Failed Projects to First Google AdSense Approval: My Journey
After three years of failed projects and rejections, I finally achieved Google AdSense approval in 2025. It’s a small start, but proof that persistence pays.
For the past three years, I’ve been writing code not just for fun, but for survival. My dream was simple: to build something online that could earn me money and give me freedom.
But reality wasn’t that simple.
The Early Struggles
Since I started in 2020, I’ve built product after product. Each one was meant to be the one — the website or app that would finally generate income. But no matter how hard I tried, every product remained just that: a product.
No users. No traction. No money.
During the COVID-19 lockdowns, I discovered Google AdSense. Suddenly, the idea of earning money through websites and ads felt possible. I read articles, watched tutorials, and imagined building websites that could generate passive income.
But there was a problem: my technical skills weren’t ready.
Back then, I didn’t know how to buy domains, set up hosting, or deploy code with confidence. My dream felt a little out of reach, even though I knew it was possible.
The Restart in 2025
Fast forward to 2025, something in me shifted.
I decided to try again — seriously this time. In just a few months, I attempted to build 3–4 different products, each with the hope that it would finally click. But again, the results weren’t what I wanted. The income wasn’t there yet.
Still, I refused to quit.
I focused on one thing: making my site AdSense-ready.
I learned about the small but important details — XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical links — the behind-the-scenes work that tells Google your website is ready for the world.
I made three separate code changes, refining my setup each time, hoping that Google would finally recognize the effort.
The Moment of Approval
Yesterday, after a long day, I was walking toward the LRT station. I was exhausted, but I pulled out my phone to check the status of my Google review.
And there it was.
Google had finally approved my site.
For the first time, my website could start generating income — not in the future, not in theory, but right now.
It’s small at the moment. Just a few cents trickling in. But that’s not the point. The point is that it’s real. It works.
What I’ve Learned
Looking back, I realize something important:
Success doesn’t come from one big win. It comes from trying, failing, and trying again — until eventually, the effort compounds into results.
Every failed product taught me something. Every technical struggle sharpened my skills. Every rejection pushed me to learn what Google, users, and the web actually expect.
Now, even though the income is small, I believe it will grow. With consistency, focus, and improvement, this can become something bigger than I ever imagined.
Final Thought
If there’s one lesson from my story, it’s this:
Keep trying. Keep building. Keep showing up.
Your first attempts may fail. Your second may too. But if you keep refining, one day you’ll look down at your phone — tired but hopeful — and realize that the thing you’ve been chasing has finally become real.
For me, that moment came with a Google AdSense approval email.
It’s just the beginning, but it’s proof that persistence works.
And if it can happen for me, it can happen for you too.
